About

Our Story

Desoto Lodge No. 1409, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, has been a cornerstone of the DeSoto, Texas community for generations. Founded on the timeless principles of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, our lodge is part of a centuries-old fraternity dedicated to making good men better.

We are proud to be a Blue Lodge — the foundation of Masonic teachings — where men from all walks of life come together in fellowship, service, and moral growth. Our history is written not only in the minutes of our meetings, but also in the lives of our members and the positive impact we’ve made in our community.

Our Purpose

The mission of Desoto Lodge is simple yet profound:

  • To foster friendship and brotherhood among good men.
  • To serve our community through charitable works and outreach.
  • To preserve Masonic traditions while adapting to the needs of today’s world.

Freemasonry is not a secret society — it is a society with secrets. The real work of a Mason is done in the heart and reflected in his actions. We challenge ourselves daily to live by the principles we profess.

Our Traditions

As part of the Grand Lodge of Texas, we conduct our meetings according to the ancient customs and rituals of Freemasonry. These traditions connect us to generations past and serve as a reminder of the values that guide us:

  • Brotherly Love — Respect and compassion for all.
  • Relief — Charity for those in need.
  • Truth — Honesty and integrity in all we do.

Who We Are Today

Our lodge is made up of men from diverse backgrounds — business owners, veterans, educators, craftsmen, and public servants — united by a common desire to improve ourselves and the world around us.

We meet regularly to share fellowship, perform our degree work, plan community projects, and welcome visitors.

Becoming a Mason

Membership is open to men who meet our requirements and share our values. If you are seeking personal growth, lifelong friendships, and a chance to be part of something greater than yourself, we invite you to reach out to us.

“We are not better than other men… but we strive to be better than we were yesterday.”
